For small residential contractors

Every change on the job, priced and approved in writing.

Your client asks for one more thing. You send the change from your phone with the price and the time it adds. They tap Approve. The job total updates, and nothing turns into an argument at the final invoice.

Free while we’re in early access. Works on any phone, no app store.

How a change gets approved

  1. 1

    Write it up on site

What’s changing, the price before tax, and the time it adds. You see the exact text before it goes.

  2. 2

Send it from your own number

Your phone’s Messages app opens with the text ready. Clients see your name, not a strange number.

  3. 3

    They tap Approve

No app and no login. They type their name to confirm, and JobThread records who approved what, the price and the time.

  4. 4

The total takes care of itself

Approved changes add to the job total with HST. Anything still waiting is listed, not counted.

The whole job, start to finish

Changes are where it starts. Quotes, payments, schedules and your trades live in the same place.

Quotes clients can say yes to

Send a proposal with Good, Better and Best options and add-ons they tick themselves. You see when they open it. When they accept, the job and the booking deposit are set up for you.

Get paid on schedule

Set the payment schedule once. When a stage is done, Request writes the text with HST and your e-Transfer email. Holdbacks are tracked, so the last 10% doesn’t slip.

Each sub gets a link with the address, parking, the pets and quiet hours, and where the washroom is. The lockbox code shows only after they type their name, and every view is logged.

Finish strong, get the next one

When a job wraps, JobThread lines up the Google review request, a referral link your client can pass on, and six- and twelve-month check-ins. Referrals land on your Today screen as new leads.

Nothing for your clients to download

Clients get a text from you with a link. It opens in their browser, shows the change or quote in plain numbers with tax, and asks them to type their name to approve. That’s it.

Records that don’t change after the fact

Once a change is sent, its price and description are locked. To fix a mistake you void it and send a new one, and both stay in the job’s history. Approvals keep the name, time and price.

Questions

Do my clients need an app or an account?

No. They tap the link in your text and it opens in their phone’s browser.

Does it text from my number?

Yes. JobThread writes the text and opens your Messages app; you send it yourself, so it comes from you.

What does an approval record?

The change number, description, price, the name the client typed, and the date and time. It can’t be edited afterwards. Talk to your lawyer about how you use approvals in your contracts.

Does it handle HST and holdbacks?

Yes. Prices go in before tax, HST is shown on everything the client sees, and a 10% holdback can be tracked per job.

Does it take payments?

Not yet. It sends payment requests with your e-Transfer details and keeps track of what’s been paid.

What does it cost?

It’s free during early access. We’ll give plenty of notice before that changes.
